Important note : DIGI QSLs are handled by computers, this means it’s very important that you send your DIGI CARDS with the correct callsign (read : the correct suffix behind your call !)   Call on the air = call to be send DIGI. For example : OT4V and OT4V/p are for a computer, and for logging software, two different callsigns !

Portable QSL

The way you will (or not) QSL for your outside activations is                               of course your own choice. Paper QSL ? Digi QSL ? We will                                   try to give you some hints and tricks for correct QSLing (of                                 course ignore this if you DO NOT QSL at all).

Note that for a station setup outside of your standard licence location, in Belgium you need to add a suffix to your callsign : /P for portable, /M for mobile and /MM for maritime mobile.

Not one of the Belgian Outdoor Awards listed on this website needs your QSL cards (neither paper, neither digi) to apply for awards (activators and hunters).

Paper QSL

-When printing QSL specific for your activations, don’t forget to add the right suffix to your callsign. Add the proper references, either on a label or handwritten

-If you’re an occasional activator, the amount of QSO’s you make might not be enough to print special QSL cards. In that case note clearly on your card you were portable (add right suffix to your call) and add the proper references, either on a label or handwritten

Paper QSL

In this section are two different ways to eQSL discribed: one if you send always the same eQSL lay-out, a second one if you make a different lay-out for every activation.

Starting assumed you have already registered your MAIN callsign (f.e. ON4VT) at eQSL. NO NEED to make different primary ACCOUNTS and REGISTRATIONS for your different calls!

1.Same eQSL lay-out for all activations

A. Call used without /P /M suffix

-Step 1 To add the  reference in the comment of the eQSL, be sure that the ADI-file contains the field <QSLMSG> filled in with the reference number and if wanted some more details like name of the reference. How to add the <QSLMSG> field to your .ADIF file depends on the logging program you are using.

-Step 2 Login to eQSL.cc with your MAIN callsign/account and upload your .ADI file in Foreground mode . The eQSL lay-out from your MAIN account will be used but only for the QSO’s in above ADI-file the comments field wit reference number will be displayed.

B. Call used with /P /M suffix

-Step 1 Login to eQSL.cc with your MAIN callsign/account.

-Step 2 You have to make a SUB account under your MAIN account. Go to “My Profile” > “My other accounts”. Register a new attached account = SUB account. Fill in your call WITH /P or /M, the time period of your activations (take this from the start of your first activation and until a far end in the future), nickname (WWFF), city, country and click the “Create new” button.

You created now a SUB account with exact the same possibilities and benefits as your MAIN account. Only the CALLSIGN is different, it has now the suffix /P or /M.

If you don’t change the eQSL lay-out, the lay-out of the MAIN account will be used. To change the lay-out to a /P or /M one, go in eQSL to “My eQSL Design”

-Step 3 To add the  reference in the comment of the eQSL, be sure that the ADI-file contains the field <QSLMSG> filled in with the reference number and if wanted some more details like name of the reference. How to add the <QSLMSG> field to your .ADIF file depends on the logging program you are using.

-Step 4 Login to eQSL.cc with your MAIN callsign/account, go to “My Profile” > “My other accounts” and log in to your proper SUB account and upload your .ADI file in Foreground mode.

2.Different eQSL lay-out for every activation

-Step 1 Login to eQSL.cc with your MAIN callsign/account.

-Step 2 You have to make a SUB account under your MAIN account. Go to “My Profile” > “My other accounts”. Register a new attached account = SUB account. Fill in your call used during this particular activation, the time period of your activation (be very correct with the time start and end of this particular activation), nickname (reference number), locator, city, country and click the “Create new” button

You created a SUB account with exact the same possibilities and benefits as your MAIN account. This SUB account perfectly fits ONE particular activation.

If you don’t change the eQSL lay-out, the lay-out of the MAIN account will be used. To change the lay-out to a customized one for this particular activation, log-in to the proper SUB account and go to “My eQSL Design”

-Step 3 To add the WWFF reference in the comment of the eQSL (if not printed on your customized lay-out), be sure that the ADI-file contains the field <QSLMSG> filled in with the reference number and if wanted some more details like name of the reference. How to add the <QSLMSG> field to your .ADIF file depends on the logging program you are using.

-Step 4 Login to eQSL.cc with your MAIN callsign/account, go to “My Profile” > “My other accounts” and log in to your proper SUB account and upload your .ADI file in Foreground mode .

After many activations your “My other accounts” page will look like this :

eQSL

Assuming you have registered already your MAIN callsign (f.e. ON4VT) at LoTW, you have to request ARRL for a new CALLSIGN CERTIFICATE for your outdoor callsign OT4V/p.

Once this certificate installed in TQSL you can make as much STATION LOCATIONS for OT4V/Pas you want.

If you want, you can make for EVERY activation a different STATION LOCATION with the proper references and data. In the example above DIGI cards are  uploaded  for ALL activations in ONE general Station Location.

Next step is uploading your ADIF log via the Log Operations tab, choose the correct callsign AND Station Location and upload. Job done.
